Winter's Gift is a proven persistent Caprifig that also seems to bear an edible fall crop.  Its quite a cold hardy and was still producting edible fruit through Christmas!  This would be a great fig if your looking for some late fruiting varieties.
 
This one was a unique shape, in that it bears a striking resemblance to a chestnut.  Winter's Gift has a firm skin, with light seed crunch.  The interior flavor is reminiscent of cantaloupe, with a light sweetness.
