Old Man was one of companion tree that we found on the old 80,000 acre Diamond Ranch, along with Sisters. Previously unreleased, this fig was recently confirmed common by successful growing and fruiting in Indiana.
The figs of mother tree appear to be burnt orange/red in color. This fig has a subtle, fruity flavor. It has very little seed crunch, like intermittent pops of little rice puffs. It has a chewier skin, but one that lends itself well to dehydration. Old Man is an average sized, fairly round fig,
